Brunch at Bierhaus

Uploaded: Oct 15, 2014
Mountain View's Bierhaus, which rebranded itself last year with a new name and menu, is launching brunch this weekend.

From 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays from here on out, grab some brunch to go with your beer.

Here's the opening menu:

- Crispy potato wedges with apple sauce, chive crème fraîche and fruit ($6.25); add a poached egg for $2

- Bierhaus Benedict: soft poached egg with chicories, crispy potato wedge and hollandaise sauce ($9); add smoked salmon, ham or haus country pork sausage for $3

- Southern-style pork schnitzel: poached egg with wild mushroom sauce on toast ($12)

There will also be locally roasted coffee ($3) and orange juice ($4).

Earlier this year, the Castro Street beer house and eatery snagged chef Aubree Arndt, who most recently cooked at Maverick in San Francisco and Penrose in Oakland (opened by a Chez Panisse alum). She quietly left recently; kitchen manager Angel Nava has stepped up to take her place.
