Want to nosh on “hyper-seasonal,” organic (duh), harvested-the-same-day produce from the farm that supplies Michelin-starred The Village Pub in Woodside and Mayfield Bakery & Café in Palo Alto?

Now you can. The annual CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) program from SMIP Ranch, a five-acre farm in Woodside that grows produce exclusively for the restaurants operated by Bacchus Management Group — Village Pub, Mayfield, Spruce in San Francisco, Pizza Antica locations and RoastCo in Emeryville — kicks off Friday, June 19.

For $28 per box, you can pick up a collection of SMIP Ranch goodies weekly at Mayfield, Village Pub or Spruce. The farm’s CSA season typically runs from June through November, meaning in the summer, subscribers can expect to receive a variety of produce — lettuces, heirloom squash, wild plums, Chantenay carrots, rainbow chard, sugar snap peas, new potatoes, rosemary and eggplant, to name a few. In the fall, look out produce like kale, heirloom frying peppers, spicy bush basil, sunchokes, pumpkins, melons and breakfast radishes.

The first box of the season (available for pick-up Friday) has Harukei turnips, heirloom beets, watercress, kale, lettuces, sage, garlic chives and pea shoots:

Everything at SMIP (which stands for ” sic manebimus in pace,” Latin for “thus we will remain in peace”) is grown without synthetic pesticides, herbicides or fertilizers, according to the farm’s Facebook page.

SMIP Ranch offers seasonal and one-week-at-a-time subscriptions. Every Friday, an email is sent to subscribers that includes a list of items for the upcoming box, as well as ordering instructions?and sometimes, special add-ons like fresh honey from the farm’s bees or a limited amount of fresh eggs.

SMIP Ranch also donates any additional produce to its neighbor, the Djerassi Residents Artist Program.

Sign up by emailing smipranchcsa@gmail.com Orders must be placed by Thursday at 8 a.m. for pick-up between 1 and 6 p.m. the following day.
