Fire department event at the library

Uploaded: May 24, 2016
One of the most memorable storytimes we attended was the fire department's storytime last year. And the fire department is coming back to Menlo Park libraries this Thursday, May 26th.

Our kids had a great time seeing the fire truck, watching a firefighter put on the uniform, and receiving coloring books and hats.

I'm always impressed when the local fire departments put on or attend kid-friendly events. From watching a movie at the fire house to climbing in a firetruck at Touch-a-Truck to checking out the Hose Wagon at the parade last weekend, there are so many wonderful firetruck/firefighter events for young kids to enjoy.

We greatly appreciate all of the time and energy the local firefighters put into these events and into educating kids about how to stay safe in an emergency.

What is/was your favorite local fire department event for kids?

I couldn't agree more. The Fire District is one of the unsung heroes. Everyday they go on countless calls helping to make our community safe. Storytime is great for the kids, but the parade had to be one of the high lights of the year.
