Simple Valentine’s Day Traditions

Uploaded: Feb 13, 2020
Unlike Christmas, our family doesn’t have many Valentine’s Day traditions.

We usually make and decorate heart-shaped cookies. We make valentines for friends and/or relatives. And we give each of our kids a small toy, card and candy.

I was searching for more traditions to add this year, but then I decided to stop. Right now, while our kids are still young, I’m going to just enjoy the simplicity of Valentine’s Day. A holiday that can become ever so complicated as you grow up.

When our kids look back and remember these simple Valentine’s Day celebrations, I hope they remember them as days where we took some time to show them how much we loved and cared for them. We loved them through the temper tantrums, fighting, whining, and colds/flu. We loved them even if they woke up on the wrong side of the bed or were bouncing off the walls from sugar. We love our kids every day of the year, but Valentine’s Day is a great opportunity to take a moment to remind them.
We need your support now more than ever. Can we count on you?
