Thank you California Academy of Sciences!

Uploaded: Jan 19, 2021
Like many kids, ours are eager to go back to their favorite museums and zoos when it is safe to do so. While we enjoyed a simple winter break at home this year, it was very clear our kids missed these outings.

I was so excited last week when I heard about California Academy of Sciences Science at Home activities. While it is not the same as a trip to the California Academy of Sciences, these virtual activities reminded me of their Toddler Treks classes that we used to attend.

Last week we had a great time making a fraction penguin, listening to Pierre the Penguin, and observing the penguin colony. We especially enjoyed learning the penguins’ names and trying to find them on the webcam. If you have a young scientist at home, these free activities are worth checking out. This week we are looking forward to the next set of activities about coral reefs.

Thank you California Academy of Sciences for putting together such creative sets of week long activities for young kids. We look forward to working through them until we can visit again.
We need your support now more than ever. Can we count on you?

Very cool! A silver lining to the virus is that some institutions that had previously neglected the quality of their online offerings vs. in person visits have now greatly improved the former once they became the only game in town.
