Pasta Modern with Francine Segan
Francine Segan, James Beard nominated author of the new cookbook “Pasta Modern,” will give a talk at Draeger’s in Menlo Park about Italian food and cooking on Nov. 6. The talk includes tastings (a pasta-wrapped shrimp appetizer, “world’s easiest pasta” with crumbled sausage, bucatini dome-pasta molded with a vegetable filling and a “cannoli” pasta dessert), a free box of Felicetti and Garofalo pasta and a signed copy of her book.

Toque of the Town
On Nov. 9, eat a Michelin-starred three-course dinner for a good cause; “Toque of the Town” will benefit the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America. The dinner, created specifically for this event, is crafted by Mark Sullivan of Spruce (who was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease in his early 20s), Peter Rudolph of Madera, Dmitry Elpern of Village Pub and Kayvon Jordon of Mayfield Bakery and Café. There will also be a wine tasting and silent and live auctions. Tickets start at $200 and go up to $20,000.
