Tagging Along for the RideUploaded: May 18, 2015
For the most part our family schedules activities around our son's interests and our daughter tags along. At this age, she usually enjoys it. To a baby, what's better than watching a group of toddlers run around, talk and play!
Sometimes, however, she can't tag along for the ride. A couple months ago I wanted to take my son on the carousel at Happy Hollow. I planned to hold my daughter in a front carrier while supervising my son. However, I learned that, for safety reasons, this wasn't allowed. Thankfully, it was a slow day and an employee offered to ride with my son while I rode with my daughter.
Today we went back to Happy Hollow with a group of friends. I am so grateful that my friends offered to watch my daughter while my son and I went on a couple of rides together. It's rare these days for me to get unexpected one-on-one time with either child so I jumped at the opportunity.
I don't know whose smile was larger on the roller coaster today - my son's or my own. I doubt my son will remember our trip today, I'm sure my daughter won't. But I know I will remember it for years to come.
