Lutticken's owner opens Main & Elm in Redwood CityUploaded: Jul 1, 2015
The owner of Lutticken's in Menlo Park has taken over a Redwood City coffee shop, transforming it into a full restaurant.
Bob Lutticken, who lives in Redwood City, recently took over Main Street Coffee and Roasting Company at 150 Elm St. and renamed it Main & Elm.
Main & Elm is now serving breakfast (omelets, scrambles, pancakes, bagels, breakfast burritos and the like), lunch (burgers, sandwiches, fish tacos, pasta, salads) and dinner (no menu available). There's also live music during Saturday brunch.
Lutticken remodeled a back patio to resemble a beer garden, with picnic tables, patio lounge chairs and bulb lights strung above. Wine and beer are served until 11 p.m. (Or check it out during happy hour, Monday-Thursday, 4-6 p.m.)
Several years ago, Lutticken also recently remodeled his decades-old Menlo Park deli on Alameda de las Pulgas and opened "Luttickens after 5," serving an expanded, upgraded menu and beer and wine after 5 p.m.
Per the Facebook page, Lutticken kept on the employees from Main Street Coffee as well as the coffee shop's hours.
"We want current customers to feel like very little has changed in their home away from home," Lutticken said.
Breakfast is served Monday-Friday, 7 a.m. to noon; Saturday, 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Lunch is served Monday-Sunday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dinner is Monday-Sunday, 4 to 10:30 p.m.
