New hotel restaurant opens inside Hyatt Mountain ViewUploaded: Aug 23, 2019
Fairchilds Public House in Mountain View plays up the Silicon Valley angle, unabashedly.
Beyond the name itself, a reference to Fairchild Semiconductor Corporation, the restaurant uses as decor interactive QR codes, old Atari game cartridges and the periodic table symbol for silicon. Cocktails have names like "the gigabit" and "encryption margarita," and the food menu "patents new spins on old favorites," a description reads.
Fairchilds officially opened this week inside the Hyatt at 409 San Antonio Road. (It's located at the Village at San Antonio shopping center.)

The restaurant is led by Executive Chef Bryan Showalter, whose has cooked mostly in hotel kitchens, including the Grand Wailea in Maui and the Hilton Santa Cruz. He attended culinary school at age 15, according to an announcement.
Fairchilds serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, plus a daily happy hour. Breakfast includes avocado toast -- but of course -- as well as omelettes, Belgian waffles, buttermilk pancakes, a bagel sandwich and acai bowls, among other dishes.
Lunch and dinner offers a mix of dishes and cuisines, such as edamame hummus, pretzels with beer-cheese fondue, poke nachos, fish tacos, salads, burgers (including a vegetarian Beyond Meat version) and vegan ramen. Entrees include salmon, braised short rib, ribeye steak and vegan pad thai.

The full bar serves cocktails, beer and wine -- plus non-alcoholic drinks, like the "High and Dry" with Seedlip Garden (a non-alcoholic mixer), tonic water, lemon and thyme. During happy hour, 3-7 p.m. daily, draft beers are $6, wines are $8, cocktails are $9 and a selection of small plates are $7.
In September, a second-floor outdoor terrace will open with fire pits, food and games.
