All day Saturday, Menlo School will be Olympic Central as some 250 special athletes from age 8 to 60 compete in the San Mateo County Special Olympics Track and Field Day.
Opening ceremonies start at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 4, and activities run until 3 p.m. on Cartan Field at the school, located at 50 Valparaiso Ave. in Atherton.
The public is invited to the games, their sixth consecutive year at Menlo School, and the 30th anniversary of the Special Olympics.
Many Menlo School students will work at the event and Upper School students will team with special athletes for some of the competitions, including relays.
