Wearing traditional white gowns and carrying nosegays of white flowers, 12 young women made their debut recently at the Peninsula Ball at Hotel Sofitel in Redwood Shores.

Jennifer Crimmins of Atherton was chairman of the 38th Peninsula Ball with Barbara Edwards of Atherton as honorary chairman. The young women were presented to family and friends by Leonard W. Ely Jr., who celebrated his 25th year as director of presentation.

The first dance was reserved for fathers and daughters with the following two dances for the debutantes, their escorts and ushers. Dick Bright and his orchestra played in the ballroom, decorated as a formal garden.

The debutantes, their parents and escorts, are: Erica Andrews, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Andrews of Atherton, with escort John Benedict of Menlo Park; Lindsa Austin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alan Austin of Atherton, with escort Ting Louie of Woodside; Amy Blankenship, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Blankenship of Foster City, with escort Matthew Corpos of San Carlos; Farrel Finstad, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Finstad of Yuba City, with escort Mark DeVaughn of Los Altos; Lauren Friedman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Friedman of Atherton, with escort Taylor Moore of Atherton; Christina Hiller, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Steven Hiller of Atherton, with escort Nicholas Castaillac of Atherton; Kara Kerns, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Kerns of Redwood City, with escort Ronald Conway of Atherton; Kimberle Morris, daughter of Mrs. Stuart Rosenberg and Jeffrey Morris of Atherton, with escort Andrew Wollenberg of Atherton; Heidi Robinson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Robinson of Atherton, with escort Andrew Curry of San Francisco; Daphne Spieker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Warren E. Spieker Jr. of Atherton, with escort Theodore Wilson of Atherton; Hilary Street, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Bryan Street of Palo Alto, with escort Ryan Ferch of Menlo Park; Tara Wilstein, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Steven Wilstein of Palo Alto, with escort Christian Parker of Atherton.
