Fire officials suspect arson in an early-morning fire that caused about $65,000 in damage at Guidant Corp. in Menlo Park on Sunday, August 23.
Firefighters were called at approximately 4:45 a.m. to the company at 135 Constitution Drive in Bohannon Industrial Park.
"What we found in the building is not what we normally see in a standard fire," said Division Chief Harold Schapelhouman of the Menlo Park Fire Protection District.
"It looked like arson," said Menlo Park police Commander Dominick Peloso.
Police and fire investigators are working together to determine the cause.
