Four California authors will be on hand for the eighth Authors' Salon sponsored by Peninsula Volunteers and Kepler's Books. The event will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, March 7, at Palo Alto Hills Country Club, 3000 Alexis Drive, Palo Alto.
Book signing by the writers will be followed by brunch at 12:30 p.m.
Authors, who will speak in the afternoon, include David Mas Masumoto, author of "Harvest Son: Planting Roots in American Soil"; Henry Mayer, author of "All on Fire: William Lloyd Garrison and the Abolition of American Slavery"; Tobias Wolff, author of "This Boy's Life"; and Jane Hirschfield, poet and author of "The Lives of the Heart."
Susanne Pari, author of "The Fortune Catcher," will be moderator. Cost of the event is $50 per person, with tickets available by calling the Peninsula Volunteers, 326-0665. Ann and John Griffiths are underwriting the annual Authors' Salon, as they have in the past.
