At its upcoming February 23 meeting, the Menlo Park City Council will discuss everything from city noise to SRI renovations at its meeting tonight (Tuesday, February 23).
At the top of the agenda is introduction of the noise ordinance, which was continued from the last council meeting. The ordinance includes changes made at earlier meetings. Specifically, the revised ordinance more closely details garbage pickup and street sweeping in selected areas and allows Saturday garbage pickups for certain businesses.
The noise ordinance also includes an exception for Raychem Corp., which said that it would be unable to meet the ordinance's requirements. Though Raychem may be allowed to exceed some noise levels under the revised ordinance, it must make a good-faith effort to reduce as much noise as possible.
SRI plan. The council will also look at SRI's request to renovate two of its buildings, adding 39,000 square feet of building to its campus. The "RAPS" building and Building B need immediate work to correct health and safety problems and will not increase traffic or employees, said SRI officials at a February 9 study session.
Lastly, the council will discuss a general plan and zoning ordinance amendment to allow certain business uses in the Hamilton Corridor area.
