Motorists who need to talk on the phone while driving through Portola Valley should encounter fewer cut-offs thanks to three new micro-cell antennas installed by Pacific Bell Wireless along Alpine and Portola roads.
The Portola Valley Planning Commission on February 17 approved the antennas, which had already been installed due to a miscommunication, according to Planning Coordinator Leslie Lambert.
The commission asked that Pacific Bell put up a bond to assure the boxes are removed if technology changes or it becomes feasible to place them underground.
