Local Realtors have contributed more than $80,000 to the Woodside High School Foundation over the past four years, reports Scott Barnum of Seville Properties in Menlo Park.

More than 80 Realtors have contributed to the foundation through a program called "Real Estate Honor Roll," created in 1995 by Mr. Barnum, a member of the foundation's executive board who at the time had two children at Woodside High.

The goal this year is to double Realtor participation from last year and raise $50,000, says Mr. Barnum.

The campaign will begin in the spring and culminate in the fall with a full-page ad recognizing contributing Realtors, companies and affiliates.

"Other fund-raising campaigns have sprung up using the same idea to raise money for their organizations," Mr. Barnum says.

He notes that three things separates the Honor Roll from the others. First, he says, it is the first such fund to ask local Realtors to donate something to the schools.

Second, it offers donated prizes to the contributing agents as a way of saying thank you. The last two years the grand prize was a trip for two to Hawaii, donated by community members. Realtor winners from the past were Barbara Tyler and Joy McCully.

Third, the Honor Roll holds a "thank you" reception for all contributors. Last year's reception was held at a home in Woodside.

The Woodside High School Foundation will hold its second annual dinner-dance and auction on Saturday, May 1, at the Elks Club in Redwood City. For information on the event, or how to contribute to the Real Estate Honor Roll, call Scott Barnum at 328-7040, ext. 149.
