Peter LaVault, a former regional director of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, was recently named executive director of the Peninsula Humane Society, overseeing all programs and divisions. He received a degree in management from the University of Rhode Island.
Elizabeth Daschbach, formerly a real estate agent with Coldwell Banker, has joined the Menlo Park office of Cashin Company. A graduate of U.C. Berkeley, she began her 12-year real estate career with Fox & Carskadon/Coldwell Banker in 1987. She has received awards for being in the top 3 percent of the company's sales force, and was in the top 1 percent for Northern California last year.
Charlotte Meisel, a 24-year resident of Atherton and a former Coldwell Banker real estate agent, has joined the Menlo Park office of Cashin Company, a real estate firm. After college and working in the computer industry, she began her real estate career in 1975 with Fox & Carskadon, where she worked for 20 years. She has sold properties from San Carlos to Los Altos.
Fashion alert. Internationally known hair stylist Edward Tytel comes to Robert Brian's Hair Salon in Menlo Park this week to show stylists his haircutting and styling techniques, reports John Bennie of West Coast Beauty Supply. Robert Brian is at 883 Santa Cruz Ave. in Menlo Park.
Landec Corp., which develops and sells specialty polymer products, reports that it has received ISO 9001 certification for its product development and manufacturing operations in Menlo Park. The company makes temperature-activated and other specialty polymer products for a variety of food, packaging, industrial high performance materials, agricultural seed, and distribution and medical applications. ISO 9000 is a series of standards for "quality management" and "quality assurance" established by the International Organization of Standardization.
