Calling all dog lovers -- it's time for the second annual Pooch Pageant, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Woodside/Portola Valley.
The event, which features a live band, barbecue and kids' activities in addition to the doggie doings, is on Saturday, September 25, at the Portola Valley Town Center, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Dogs will compete in 12 categories: Best Tail Wagger, Dog/Owner Look-Alike, Best Trick, Best Kisser, Best Singer, Best Costumed Dog, Most Unique Markings, Best Costumed Dog and Owner, Best Tennis Ball Catcher, Friendliest Face, Most Unique Bark, Howl or Noise, and Most Acrobatic.
Entry fee per dog for three categories is $35 in advance and $40 the day of the event.
Entry forms are available at local businesses and schools, town hall and pet stores.
Money raised by the event will go toward Rotary Club service programs.
