Tips for getting in to private schools
Tips for getting in to private schools
(September 20, 2000)
Admissions officers at local private schools offer the following advice to parents of prospective students:
**Look for the school that will best meet your child's unique needs. Involve your child in the decision.
**Have an open mind. Consider all your options. Avoid picking a school solely because of its name-brand value.
**Apply to multiple private schools, to increase your child's chances of getting in.
**Don't get overly anxious about the process. All admissions officers say they are ready and willing to answer questions.
**Be aware of the admissions cycle and the deadlines. Request an admissions packet in September.
**Don't let financial concerns keep you from applying. Independent schools have financial aid, which you can request if your child is admitted.
