Menlo College invites businesses to its management event, job fair Menlo College invites businesses to its management event, job fair (March 14, 2001)

Menlo College is inviting all members of the local business community to attend the annual John D. Russell Management Day on March 29, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Menlo College Dining Commons.

The free event will begin with breakfast, followed by remarks from economist Adele Hayutin. She will talk about the influences that global aging and other major population shifts are having on the future of business, particularly in the Silicon Valley.

Menlo College's Job and Internship Fair will follow, from noon to 3 p.m. Local businesses are invited to participate.

Management Day is an opportunity for students, alumni, faculty, and members of the local business community to interact and network, said Marty Ummel, a vice president at Menlo College. It has been an annual tradition at the college since the early 1960s.

Management Day is named in honor of the late John D. Russell, a former director of the School of Business Administration, and a faculty member in business law.

Known as "The Judge," Mr. Russell had an extraordinary influence on the lives of many Menlo College students, Ms. Ummel said. He was actively involved in the community, especially through the Menlo Park Rotary Club and Channing House in Palo Alto.

There is no fee to attend either Management Day or the Job and Internship Fair. For more information, contact Dan Mackeben, director of career and alumni services, at 543-3740 or at dmackeben@menlo.edu. Pre-registration is required by March 22.
