Softball league names Alpine/M-A All Stars Softball league names Alpine/M-A All Stars (July 11, 2001)

The Alpine Menlo-Atherton Softball League wrapped up its season by announcing its All Star teams, and playing June 16-17 at the Twin Creeks Sports Complex in Sunnyvale.

Two teams representing the Minors (age 10 and under) and the Majors (age 12 and under) divisions competed in tournament play.

Players in the back two rows of the photo are from the Majors All Stars Tournament Team. They are: Jessica Altman, Andie Bradford, Emily Dougherty, Brianna Estrada, Kelly Fero, Blair Georgakas, Marie Hamilton, Jessie Hartman, Lauren Hood, Ellen Knapp, Alexandra Konecny, Lauren Nachazel, Anna Paustenbach, Rachel Shelly-Abrahamson and Alexandra Shepherd.

Players in the front two rows of the photo are from the Minors All Stars Tournament Team. They are: Emily Anderson, Shannon Berry, Nicki DiSibio, Sarah Ebner, Ellen Ingebritsen, Tiffany Kung, Ashley Lucian, Lindsey Lucian, Allison Maggioncalda, Brittany Margot, Raissa Masket, Kelly Mellenthin, Kelly Thurlow, Marie Trudelle, Tami Vujovich, Elizabeth Wagstaffe and Taylor Wentz.

The AMA is a combined League, bringing together girls from Alpine and Menlo Atherton Little Leagues. This is its second season together, with girls ages 7-12 competing on teams during a 12-game season.

Commissioner Bill Shaw organized and helped coach the tournament weekend. All Star uniforms were donated by John and Mary Doerr.
