Attacking French broom along Los Trancos Creek Attacking French broom along Los Trancos Creek (April 03, 2002)

There's nothing like attacking invading French broom to feel useful and get rid of your aggressions at the same time.

The San Francisquito Watershed Council invites volunteers to turn out Saturday, April 6, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. to remove the aggressive weed from the banks of Los Trancos Creek.

The community restoration workday aims to reclaim the native habitat along the stream where steelhead trout from the Pacific Ocean still return home to spawn.

Volunteers should meet at the Webb Ranch fruit stand on Alpine Road. Wear sturdy shoes, dress in layers, and bring a hat, sunscreen and a friend. The council will provide tools, gloves, snacks and drinks.

For information, call Susan Fizzell at 962-9876, ext. 305.
