Police calls
(April 17, 2002) This information is from Atherton and Menlo Park police departments and the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office. Under the law, people charged with offenses are considered innocent until convicted.
Atherton
Domestic violence: Eduardo Manzo, 25, of Redwood City was arrested April 11 at 8:40 a.m. at the corner of Middlefield Road and Oak Grove Avenue and booked into county jail on charges of domestic violence, false imprisonment and kidnapping. Police said that his estranged wife, attempting to get out of their vehicle at a stoplight, fell out when Mr. Manzo hit the gas pedal to prevent her exiting.
Identity theft: Fraudulent credit card charges were made to accounts belonging to a resident in the 100 block of La Burnum Road.
Grand theft: A resident reported April 8 that a leaf blower was stolen from a storage shed in the 100 block of Greenoaks Drive.
Menlo Park
Drunken driving reports:
@small text:**Rene Fonseca, 39, of Menlo Park was arrested on April 9 at 11 p.m. at the intersection of Newbridge Street and Carlton Avenue and taken to First Chance alcohol treatment facility in Belmont.
**Bennie Rambin, 36, of Menlo Park was arrested on April 10 at the intersection of Newbridge Street and Willow Road on charges of driving while under the influence and possessing drug paraphernalia. He was taken to First Chance alcohol treatment facility in Belmont.
Possession of drugs for sale:
**Troy Powell, 21, of Menlo Park was arrested in the 1100 block of Henderson Avenue at 8:40 p.m. on April 6 on charges of transporting and possessing cocaine and marijuana to sell. He was booked into the county jail.
**Richard Warfield, 37, of Sunnyvale and Victor Givhan, 34, of Fremont were arrested on April 5 at 6:15 p.m. at the intersection of Willow Road and Alberni Street on charges of transporting and possessing marijuana to sell. They were booked into the county jail.
Assault: A man was assaulted on April 5 at 8:30 a.m. in the 1100 block of Hollyburne Avenue.
Minor injury accident: A bicyclist was hit by a vehicle on April 10 at 5:15 p.m. in the 800 block of Willow Road.
Burglary:
**A resident in the 400 block of Ivy Drive reported on April 8 the theft of two laptop computers during the previous weekend.
@small text:**A resident in the 1000 block of Del Norte Avenue reported on April 5 that tools were taken from the garage.
Grand theft:
**Clothing was reported stolen from a residence in the 1000 block of Alma Street on April 6.
**A laptop computer was reported stolen between 1 and 1:30 p.m. on April 4 from an unlocked vehicle in the 2000 block of Menalto Avenue.
**A juvenile was arrested April 7 on charges of stealing money from his employer in the 3600 block of Alameda de las Pulgas.
Theft: A resident on Bay Road reports that a VCR, TV, and alcohol were taken from an unlocked motor home on April 5.
Vehicle theft: A motor scooter was reported stolen from the 300 block of Sherwood Way on April 10, between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
Portola Valley
Burglary: Fundraising money was reported stolen from a room at Corte Madera Middle School on April 7.
Woodside
Forgery: Checks bearing the forged signature of a resident in the 100 block of Glenwood Avenue were reportedly passed between March 1 and 26.
