NCEFT charity golf tournament NCEFT charity golf tournament (February 26, 2003)

The National Center for Equine Facilitated Therapy (NCEFT) will host its second annual charity golf tournament on Monday, March 10, at Stanford Golf Course.

Registration takes place at 9:30 a.m., followed by a putting contest at 10 a.m. and shotgun start at 11 a.m. Former 49er quarterback John Paye is the tournament's honorary chairman.

Cocktails, dinner and live and silent auctions will follow golf play. Ex-49er Bubba Paris will be the celebrity auctioneer with ex-Raiders Mervyn Fernandez and Tim Collier taking part. Cost of the event is $275 per person.

NCEFT uses horses for specialized physical and occupational therapy for disabled children and adults, and treats more than 85 children a week.

Children's concert

Singer and songwriter Nancy Cassidy will entertain at a children's concert from 4 to 5 p.m. Thursday, March 6, at the Portola Valley Library. Ms. Cassidy is best known for creating the "Kid Songs" series. The event is free with no reservations needed.
