Former trustee Kerry Bouchier dies Former trustee Kerry Bouchier dies (April 16, 2003)

Kerry Bouchier, a former board member of the Las Lomitas School District for 10 years, died Sunday morning, April 13, at the Bouchiers' Menlo Park home in Sharon Heights after a six-month illness. She was 58 years old.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 21, at Stanford Memorial Church. The family prefers memorial donations in lieu of flowers; preferred charities will be specified at the services.

Mrs. Bouchier's involvement with the Las Lomitas district began in 1983, when her daughter, Erin, started school. After being president of the Las Lomitas School PTA, she served on the Las Lomitas district's governing board from 1989 to 1999, and was elected board president.

She was co-chair for development at the Center for Research on Women and Gender at Stanford University, and chair of the Stanford Peninsula Parents Association. She was a huge fan of Stanford sports, especially men's basketball.

Recently, she was president of the Peninsula Center for the Blind. Over the years, she was involved with activities at Ladera Oaks Swim and Tennis Club, serving as a board member. She also was commissioner of a Fantasy Football League, organized with friends.

Mrs. Bouchier graduated from Stanford University in 1966 and received a master's degree in education from Harvard the next year.

She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Bob Bouchier. They have two daughters, Erin, 25, and Megan, 22, who grew up in Menlo Park and graduated from Las Lomitas district schools and Menlo-Atherton High School before going on to university.
