Three reach Eagle Scout rank
Three reach Eagle Scout rank
(August 13, 2003) Three members of Boy Scout Troop 222 in Menlo Park achieved Eagle Scout status recently. Joseph Daniel Gran, Coleman Thomas Younger and Anthony Michael Masia were recognized during a Court of Honor ceremony at First Baptist Church in Menlo Park, where the troop usually meets.
In addition to earning a large number of merit badges, demonstrating skills from swimming to communication, each completed a community-service project.
Joseph, 19, of Menlo Park, restored six horseshoe pits at Flood Park for his project. He attends California State University at Chico.
Coleman, 17, a former resident of Redwood City, built three large wooden picnic tables at Hidden Villa. He now lives in the Sacramento area where he attends Granite Bay High School.
Anthony, 18, of Redwood City, reconstructed the path in front of 12 Stations of the Cross and repaired the statues at the Sacred Heart Community Church in Atherton.
