Sacred Heart: New tennis center, track Sacred Heart: New tennis center, track (November 19, 2003)

Sacred Heart Schools dedicated its new centrally located tennis center and track on the Atherton campus November 8.

Joseph Ciancaglini, director of schools, presided at the dedication and thanked the donors who made this project -- the long-awaited center with eight tennis courts and a six-lane all-weather track -- a reality.

He cited particularly Andrea Okamura, Jeff Chambers, Shannon and Tom Fallon, Suzanne Jackson, Pam and Will Stewart, and Bebelu and Michael Wishart. He also recognized Elizabeth Dunlevie, chair of the schools' board of trustees, and Sherlene Pjesky for their dedicated efforts.

The Rev. Bill Muller, a school trustee, blessed the new facility.

Students of Sacred Heart Prep and St. Joseph's School of the Sacred Heart in Atherton will use the center and track for physical education classes and for competitive sports program.

The dedication coincided with the annual homecoming weekend, football games and reunions for the classes of 1953, 1983 and 1993.
