Holidays are about old favorites, and for many people that means the printed word.

In a free family program planned for Saturday, December 6, Al Jacobs and friends will read excerpts from three classic works: Louisa May Alcott's "Little Women," and Charles Dickens' "The Christmas Dinner" and "A Christmas Carol."

The program begins at 11 a.m. at the Menlo Park Recreation Center, 700 Alma St. Holiday refreshments will be provided.

Free van service is available for Menlo Park seniors and people with disabilities. Call 330-2515 to schedule a pick-up.
