This information is from the Atherton and Menlo Park police departments and the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office. Under the law, people charged with offenses are considered innocent until convicted.
Atherton
Mail tampering:
** Mail theft, Isabella Avenue, reported November 28.
** Mail theft and opening of fraudulent credit card accounts, first block of Linda Vista, reported December 4.
Robbery: A student stole cash from another student in a strong-arm robbery at Menlo-Atherton High School.
Menlo Park
Domestic violence: Suspect arrested for spousal abuse in 300 block of Grayson Court and booked into county jail on November 29.
Burglaries: Video game player, video games and DVD, 1300 block Mills Street, December 1; DVD player and DVD, 1200 block Willow Road, December 1; laptop computer, credit cards and cash, 2200 block Sharon Road, December 5.
Theft: Telephone, paper, CD player and pencils, 400 block Ivy Drive, December 1.
Fraud: Resident of 600 block Roble Avenue reported a checking account fraudulently opened in resident's name.
Petty theft: Four sandwiches and meat stolen from Safeway grocery, 500 block El Camino Real, December 1; registration sticker, 1100 block Willow Road, December 3; license plates, 800 block Coleman Avenue and 1100 block Willow Road, December 5; handicapped placard, 1300 block Sevier Avenue, December 5; credit card, 600 block Santa Cruz Avenue, December 5.
Auto burglaries: Gloves, calendar, audio tapes and cooking pots, 400 block Oak Grove Avenue, November 30; CD player and speakers, 700 block Coleman Avenue, December 2; stereo, 200 block Constitution Drive, December 2.
Woodside
Burglary: Computer items stolen from unlocked building on 4200 block of Farm Hill Boulevard sometime between November 5 and 7.
Work injury: A worker was taken to Stanford Hospital after losing his footing on a roof and falling about 15 feet to the ground in the 200 block of Eleanor Drive on November 26.
West Menlo Park
Vandalism: Window smashed, nothing taken, 1000 block Cloud Avenue, November 25.
Portola Valley
Auto burglary: Purse stolen from front seat after window smash, 500 block Portola Road, November 24.
