No time limits on holiday parking in Menlo No time limits on holiday parking in Menlo (December 10, 2003)

Holiday shopping can be nerve-racking, but at least shoppers in Menlo Park won't have to worry about getting a parking ticket for staying in a space too long.

Menlo Park police say they will not be issuing tickets downtown between December 13 and January 3 for drivers exceeding the parking time limits.

With times tight, Sgt. Paul Kunkel said, "We want our businesses to do well, and we want to make it easy for people to come into the city and shop."

City officials have also launched a "Shop Menlo" campaign in hopes of attracting more sales tax revenue to Menlo Park.

The police department also refrained from enforcing the downtown parking limits during Thanksgiving week.
