Caption with picture in print edition: The Menlo-Atherton High School's varsity girls water polo team won the 2003 Central Coast Section Scholastic Championship Team Award, given to one team in each CCS varsity sport with the highest unweighted grade-point average. The team, whose GPA is 3.617, was presented a trophy at the CCS finals November 15 at Independence High School. The award capped a season when the Bears were seeded 7th in CCS and went as far as the CCS quarterfinals before losing to Sacred Heart Prep.
