This information is from the Atherton and Menlo Park police departments and the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office. Under the law, people charged with offenses are considered innocent until convicted.
Atherton

Grand theft: Patio furniture stolen, 100 block Encinal Avenue, between December 26 and January 4.

Burglary: Laptop computer and jewelry stolen, first block Monte Vista Avenue, January 5.

Vandalism: Classroom window broken, Selby Lane School, January 3. Gate damaged, first block Selby Lane, January 8.

Petty theft: License plates stolen, first block Marymont Avenue, between December 29 and January 5. Wallet stolen from unlocked vehicle in student parking lot, Menlo-Atherton High School, January 7. Wallet stolen from student's backpack, Menlo-Atherton High School, January 7.

Menlo Park

Fraud: Possible identity theft, 900 block of San Mateo Drive, January 5.

Auto burglary: Computer stolen, 900 block Arbor Road, January 8
Portola Valley

Grand theft: Cash and jewelry stolen from rooms in 500 block of Portola Road.
West Menlo Park

Grand theft: Golf clubs stolen from vehicle in 1900 block of Valparaiso Avenue.

Burglary: Miscellaneous items and car stereo stolen from vehicle after window smashed in first block of Inyo Place on December 31.

Forgery: Resident of first block of Country Lane reported false use of name in cashing resident's checks.

Vandalism: Vehicle scratched and tire punctured, 2100 block Santa Cruz Avenue, December 27.
