Public hearing set for Las Lomitas parcel tax
Public hearing set for Las Lomitas parcel tax
(January 14, 2004) A new parcel tax of $98 will be the first topic of discussion at a January 13 public hearing conducted by the governing board of the Las Lomitas Elementary School District.
The hearing takes place at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 13, in the La Entrada middle school library at 2200 Sharon Road in West Menlo Park. For more information, call the district business office at 854-6311.
Pollster Brad Senden will present results from a recent survey gauging community sentiments. The board will also take public comments before voting on a resolution to put the measure before voters in an April 13 special election. To pass, the measure needs the approval of two-thirds of the voters.
If the measure is approved, district property owners would pay a total of $294 per parcel, including the current parcel tax of $196, which was approved by voters in 2001 and expires in 2008.
