Atherton meets on train plans
Atherton meets on train plans
(January 21, 2004) Atherton train users are invited to a public meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, January 27, to sound off on a proposed schedule that would dramatically cut train service to the town's station.
Caltrain officials are set to discuss what the railroad has dubbed the Spring 2004 Baby Bullet Schedule at a board meeting Thursday, February 5, and Atherton officials are collecting residents' input to present at the meeting.
The proposed schedule would reduce weekday stops at the Atherton station by about one-third. Three options for weekend service are also being considered -- the first two have no trains stopping in Atherton on Saturdays, Sundays or holidays, but the third offers hourly service.
The January 27 meeting will be held in Atherton's Town Council Chambers at 94 Ashfield Road. For information call the city clerk at 752-0529.
