Tryouts Saturday for Little League
The Alpine-West Menlo Little League will hold make-up major league tryouts and minor league evaluations, beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday, January 31, at Portola Valley Town Center, for players who did not attend earlier tryouts and evaluations. The center is at 765 Portola Road in Portola Valley.
Tryouts are mandatory for 9- to 12-year-olds who want to play at either level. Players should bring their own gloves; all other equipment will be provided. They should expect to be there for two or three hours and will be evaluated on fielding, hitting, throwing and running.
It is suggested that players file their registration forms prior to the evaluations, but they may also register that morning. To register online, go to eteamz.com/alpine2004/. Players must provide a copy of their birth certificate. If sessions are cancelled due to weather, rescheduling information will be posted on the league Web site.
