In the Service In the Service (February 04, 2004)

** Army Pfc. Anthony P. Abas , 19, who graduated from Menlo-Atherton High School in June, recently received 13 weeks of basic infantry training, three weeks of airborne training, and three weeks of the Ranger Indoctrination Program in Fort Benning, Georgia, and is now assigned to a Ranger Battalion in Fort Lewis, Washington. He received special honors for scoring over 300 on his final physical training test. From a very young age, he knew he wanted to follow in the footsteps of three uncles who served in Vietnam, one of whom also served in the Persian Gulf; and two grandfathers who served in World War II.
