Blind 9-11 survivor to speak in Menlo Blind 9-11 survivor to speak in Menlo (February 04, 2004)

A blind man whose guide dog led him safely from the 78th floor of the World Trade Center after the September 11 attacks is scheduled to speak in Menlo Park on Sunday, February 8.

Michael Hingson worked as a district sales manager in New York and now is a spokesman for the national nonprofit Guide Dogs for the Blind, an organization press release states. He and his yellow Labrador retriever, Roselle, have been featured in numerous newspaper articles and on television programs.

Mr. Hingson's speech is scheduled for 1 to 3 p.m. at the Masonic Lodge at the corner of El Camino Real and Roble Avenue. For more information, go to www.guidedogs.com/bios-hingson.html.
