Menlo Park: Parking worries put off church approval Menlo Park: Parking worries put off church approval (February 04, 2004)

Citing concerns about adequate parking, the Menlo Park City Council decided on January 27 to put off voting on plans for building a new two-story building containing a church and three housing units at 310 Market Place.

City staff members will study the numbers of vehicles parking in the area, which also houses the Boys and Girls Club, Assistant City Manager Audrey Seymour said.

The new building, which would be about 5,200 square feet, would replace an existing three-unit apartment building of about 2,900 square feet. Property owner Vika Wills has said that up to 80 people would be coming to the church at a time, according to a staff report.

In December, the Planning Commission unanimously recommended that the council approve permits for the project, which include a conditional development permit. No one from the public spoke at that hearing, the staff report read.
