This information is from the Atherton and Menlo Park police departments and the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office. Under the law, people charged with offenses are considered innocent until convicted.

Atherton

Petty thefts: Purse stolen from girls' locker room, Menlo-Atherton High School, February 3. Cell phone stolen, Menlo-Atherton High School, February 3.

Menlo Park

Grand theft: Someone stole a yellow pressure washer from a vehicle near the intersection of El Camino Real and the Caltrain railroad tracks on January 31.

Burglaries:

** Someone entered a residence in the 100 block of Hedge Road and stole a DVD player, handheld computer, necklace and coins on January 31.

** Someone entered a residence in the 200 block of Oak Court via an unlocked door and stole a purse on February 1.

** Someone broke into and ransacked a residence in the first block of Iris Lane on February 4.

** Someone ransacked a residence in the 1100 block of Noel Drive and stole a laptop computer, a backpack, sunglasses, a camera and a coat on February 4.

** Someone stole a bicycle from a garage in the first block of Beacon Street on February 4.

Fraud:

** A resident of the 1200 block of Whitaker Way reported a check cashed by an unauthorized person sometime before January 30.

** A resident of the 800 block of Coleman Avenue reported fraudulent use of a credit card on February 5.

Auto burglaries: CD player stolen, 500 block of Pierce Road, January 31. Speakers, CD player and amplifier stolen, Carlton Avenue and Chestnut Street, February 3.

Petty thefts: Duffle bag, swimwear, a wrapped present, jelly beans and a check stolen from vehicle, 900 block of Menlo Avenue, January 31. Cell phone and sunglasses stolen from vehicle, 400 block of Central Avenue, February 1. CD player stolen from unlocked vehicle, 300 block of O'Connor Street, February 1.

Vandalism: Vehicle keyed, 1200 block of Crane Street, January 31. Fence damaged, 100 block of Elm Street, February 1.

Woodside

Grand theft and larceny: Mail stolen from unlocked mailbox, 100 block of Olive Hill Lane, January 29.

Vehicle collisions:

** Two vehicles collided near Woodside Road and Interstate 280 on January 22 after one of the vehicles reportedly ran a red light. One driver was taken to the hospital.

** A vehicle slid off the roadway, overturned and came to rest on its roof near Highway 84 and Portola Road on January 30. Driver and passenger reported they were not injured and refused medical attention.

Portola Valley

Vandalism: Mailbox vandalized, 300 block Old La Honda Road, February 2.
