This information is from the Atherton and Menlo Park police departments and the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office. Under the law, people charged with offenses are considered innocent until convicted.
Atherton

Burglaries: A man stole a spray paint can from a garage in the first block of Lloyden Drive on February 14.

Grand Theft:

** Someone stole a Fender bass guitar, a black guitar case, a tuner and electrical cord from the J building of Menlo-Atherton High School on February 14. The loss totals over $600.

** Someone stole a floor buffer from an office at Menlo College, February 18.
Menlo Park

Spousal abuse:

** Samantha Weigel of Palo Alto was arrested on February 13 in the 600 block of Roble Avenue and was booked into county jail.

** Possible spousal abuse in the 700 block of Pierce Road. Police turned the case over to the district attorney.

Battery: ** A student reported being assaulted by another student at East Palo Alto High School on February 13.

** A student at the Willow Oaks School reported on February 19 being assaulted by another student after school the previous afternoon.

Burglaries:

** Someone broke into a car on Scott Drive, February 13, and stole a camera, palm pilot, and Maglite flashlight.

** Someone broke into Belle Haven School and stole pudding snack packs on February 13.

** Someone broke into a car in the 100 block Constitution Avenue February 13 and stole a lady's purse with cash inside.

** Someone broke into a car on February 19 in the 500 block of Pierce Road and stole a car stereo and speakers, and a computer monitor.

Fraud: A woman reported fraudulent charges made on her lost credit card in the 700 block of Harvard Avenue on February 17.

Petty thefts: Alcohol stolen from Draeger's, 1000 block University Avenue, February 16. Barbecue stolen, Willow Road, February 17. Rear license plate stolen, 600 block of Sharon Park Drive, February 19. Rear license plate stolen, 800 block of Coleman Avenue, February 19.
Portola Valley

Burglaries: Someone broke into a storage container sometime before February 14 and stole a portion of the contents.

Grand Theft:

** Someone stole a horse trailer in the 3100 block of Alpine Road sometime before February 11.

** Someone has been stealing water from a house that is still under construction at the intersection of Buck Meadow Drive and Redberry Ridge.
