University women meet

Julia Yaffee, foreman of this year's San Mateo County Grand Jury, will be the speaker for the Tuesday, March 9, meeting of the American Association of University Women to be held from 10 a.m. to noon in the Menlo Park City Council Chambers. The public is invited to attend
Puttin' on the Ritz

The Junior League of Palo Alto/Mid Peninsula will hold its spring fundraiser "Viva Las Vegas" Saturday, March 6, at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Half Moon Bay.

There will be games and casino entertainment by Marianne Kent and Bay Society. Auction items will include a wine cave tour at Bourassa Vineyards, a trip for two to Canyon Ranch and a trip for two to Palmilla Resort. Last year's spring gala raised more than $80,000 to be used for community projects and grants. For more information, call 617-8487.
