Woodside High band boosters plan party to raise funds
Woodside High band boosters plan party to raise funds
(March 03, 2004) The band boosters at Woodside High School are throwing a party, a toga party to be exact, to raise money for the school's instrumental music education programs.
The "Night on Mount Olympus" party is scheduled for 7 to 11 p.m. Friday, March 12 at the American Legion Hall in Redwood City. The food will be Greek and everyone -- members of the school's jazz big band included -- is encouraged to wear a toga and bring dancing shoes. The night will include prize drawings, a silent auction of rare wines and an award for the best toga.
Tickets -- either in advance or at the door -- are $30 per person or $50 per couple. Student tickets are $15. Proceeds go to support the uniforms, fees, travel and other costs for the only high school marching band in the Sequoia Union High School District.
