Archbishop visits Sacred Heart Schools
(March 17, 2004) Archbishop William Levada of the Archdiocese of San Francisco recently visited Sacred Heart Schools to celebrate the 150-year anniversary of the founding of the Archdiocese.
A Mass for the high school students was celebrated at Sacred Heart Prep, followed by an assembly at St. Joseph's School for children in preschool through eighth grade. In keeping with tradition, Archbishop Levada announced an extra school holiday for students, to take place February 13.
After the assembly, the St. Joseph's student council and administration escorted the archbishop and Monsignor Thomas Merson to see the new Sacred Heart mural at Robinson Court.
Before a luncheon in the Otto Library, the archbishop visited the Oakwood retirement community of the Religious of the Sacred Heart where 47 sisters live.
