Reading tutor training at Menlo Park library
Adults who are interested in passing on their love of books can take part in an upcoming Project Read training to learn to teach other adults to read.
Volunteer tutors will be trained on Saturday, March 20, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the downstairs meeting room of the Menlo Park Library at 800 Alma St. The free program has been providing literacy training for 17 years, organizers said. For more information, call 330-2525.
Jerry Fowler talk at Sacred Heart Prep
Jerry Fowler, staff director of the Committee on Conscience at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C., is scheduled to speak at Sacred Heart Prep on Friday, March 25, starting at 12:15 p.m. The topic: issues and events occurring in Sudan, Chechnya and Rwanda.
