Menlo College celebrates women, spring
(March 17, 2004) Menlo College's seventh annual Rites of Spring celebrates peace and the goddess this year beginning at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 23, in Russell Center at El Camino Hall.
Men, women and children are invited to attend the multicultural event and bring along percussion instruments for a "musical interlude of drumming." Speakers include Laura Strom, a practitioner of shamanistic feminine spirituality, and Marla Lowenthal, an associate professor of mass communication and cultural studies at Menlo.
The event is free, and light refreshments will be served. Menlo College is located at 1000 El Camino Real in Atherton. For information call 453-3840.
