Haley Bogart and Tori Anthony, both 14-year-old Woodside residents, won the balance-beam event at the Northern California State Gymnastics Championships, held March 13-14 at San Jose State University.

Haley won for balance beam Level 10, Junior A; and Tori for balance beam Level 9, Senior A.

Both girls qualified for the 2004 USA Gymnastics Women's Junior Olympic Level 9 and 10 regional championships to be held April 3-4 in Sacramento, where there will be competitors from California, Arizona, Utah and Nevada.

While the competition season is January to May, the girls train year- round, working out at the gym four and a half hours a day, five days a week.

Haley attends St. Francis High School in Mountain View and Tori attends Castilleja School in Palo Alto.
