Art in Action offers summer programs Art in Action offers summer programs (May 05, 2004)

"Breaking the Artists' Code" is the theme of Art in Action's summer ARTcamp. Students will learn about famous artists, find hidden meanings in their masterpieces, and build their own portfolio of artwork.

The program will be offered at nine locations, including Encinal School in Atherton. Six weeklong sessions, designed for each age group, begin June 21.

Students will learn about art history and technique from such artists as Rousseau, Matisse and Vermeer while using different types of media to create their own art.

Cost of a one-week session for grades kindergarten through eight is $130 per child. For more information on Art in Action's school and camp programs, call 298-8691 or go to www.artinaction.org.
