Teens arrested in attempted burglary Teens arrested in attempted burglary (May 12, 2004)

A 15-year-old boy from Menlo Park and a 14-year-old boy from Redwood City were arrested Thursday afternoon, May 6, on charges of attempted burglary and conspiracy after they were seen in the backyard of a home in the Felton Gabel's neighborhood of Menlo Park.

A woman, 43, was alone in her home in the 300 block of Lennox Avenue at about 12:20 p.m. when she saw two young men in her backyard, said Sgt. Mark Boettger of the Menlo Park Police Department. When the two realized they had been seen, they fled, said Sgt. Boettger.

The woman called police, and the two youths were found near the home with a few minutes, he said. They were taken to Hillcrest juvenile facility in San Mateo.
