Judges to visit schools for talks on law Judges to visit schools for talks on law (May 19, 2004)

In recognition of community law month, four superior court judges from San Mateo County will be visiting government classes in four public high schools -- including Woodside and Menlo-Atherton -- in the Sequoia Union High School District on May 26 and 27 to discuss the law as it applies to an actual criminal case from the county's files.

This is the first year for the "Court in the Schools" program in the Sequoia district and the second for the San Mateo Union High School District, where it was praised by teachers and students alike, said Assistant Presiding Judge George A. Miram.

Interested students can study the case and questions ahead of time by going to sanmateocourt.org and clicking on the High School Case Study link.
