A tree grows in Atherton
The late Henry Cartan III of Atherton will be honored with a tree planting and dedication ceremony to be held Monday, May 24, at 5 p.m. in Holbrook-Palmer Park by the Holbrook Palmer Recreation Park Foundation.
A magnolia grandiflora tree will be planted in recognition of Mr. Cartan's years of service and financial support. Mr. Cartan's involvement in the foundation helped preserve and improve the park, say foundation members.
The ceremony will be followed by refreshments in the park Pavilion. The public is welcome to attend both the ceremony and reception. For more information, call Pattie at 792-0536.
